CBEN Case Studies

Cedar Manor Hotel

CBEN client Cedar Manor Hotel has been a member of the our Green at Heart Awards Scheme for many years and considers it an asset to their business.

For them the scheme is as much about saving money as it is demonstrating their environmental performance to their guests.
Over the years Cedar Manor Hotel have made significant energy savings through a complete LED lighting upgrade, saved water by switching to low flow showers and reduced waste by monitoring and managing menu choices. They are avid supporters of locally sourced products and produce, but none of these changes have compromised the standard of service and luxury that guests receive. The cumulative savings made by these improvements is over £1000 annually.

Savings

“CBEN Green at Heart Scheme has guided us from day 1 at the Hotel. We knew that we wanted to become an environmentally conscious hotel and didn’t really know where to start.
The assessors from CBEN took us through the stages and we gradually progressed from having an interest, to doing something, to evolving into a Gold Award hotel. The first steps are often the hardest, but the Green at Heart Scheme is now part of our monthly administration, part of our planning and part of our business.
We have remained a member of CBEN because firstly the award scheme keeps you thinking green, they help to develop goals that are achievable and provide advice. The knowledge and resources that are accessible to members are fantastic.”
Jonathan Kaye, Owner of Cedar Manor Hotel.
